Pig Out in the Park

Every year in downtown Spokane a bunch of food vendors come out for Pig Out in the Park. It is pretty much all the fair food you could want, lining the pathways throughout the park. I love fair food but hate the smell of the fair and the rides so this is perfect for me. Just food :-) We walked down from the law school and enjoyed a few hours out in the park. Justin and I ate Philly Cheese stakes and the boys had PB and J that I brought from home. I wasn't about the spend $6.00 each for them to eat. To top off the night I had a funnel cake and Justin had a fried twinkie. YUM! Justin and I showing off our food

This has nothing to do with Pig Out in the Park but it was pretty funny. The boys splash so much that we put the plastic curtain down and then they had a great time letting the water soak into the wash clothes and then throwing them onto the curtain. It was a HUGE mess when they were done!

Movie time

I would have never thought I would take my boys to the movie theater until they were older and especially didn't think I would go without Justin. Today Amy and I braved all odds and took the kids to the FREE movie. They out numbered us but we did ok. Amy's girls were great. Braxton did awesome in his own chair and Taylor wouldn't let go of me. Eventually he feel asleep clinging on for dear life and Brax was content with holding my hand and watching what was going on. We saw Horton Hears a Who! Braxton fell asleep about 30 minutes before the movie got over and Taylor woke up for the last half and still clung to me. I think he was scared of the noise. The movie was SO LOUD and then the theater was FULL of little kids. It was pretty fun and I think I would do it again sometime. Amy was so smart and brought her kids car seats in. After seeing how smart that was she was so nice and went and got mine for me. Not only could they see but they liked to sit alone. Plus the chairs didn't fold up on them anymore. :-)

Playing Around

The boys have been loving their little sun tent that I got out a few days ago. We got it when we went to the beach when they were 6 weeks old and haven't used it since. They put blankets, pillows, and toys in there and then throw them out again.



After dinner we went out to the playground and had lots of fun. They love to throw the tiny rocks that are around the slides. Justin was trying to teach them to put rocks in his hands but Brax just threw them at him. Both boys climbed up and wanted to go down the slide. Braxton did it all by himself. He turned around and went down the slide on his belly. Taylor is more hesitant but kept coming back for more.

What to do??

Over the last two days I have found myself looking for things to do with my boys. My apartment is small, they only play with their toys for a while before getting bored or fighting over them, and I don't want them to be total TV bugs. So I need ideas of what you all do with your kids to make the day, well, not so long. It has been cooler the last few days so going outside hasn't been an option. It is supposed to warm up though so that gives me a few options. I only have a car two days a week so I can't just leave and go walk around Target (which is where I am headed today). So any ideas of fun things to do with kids would be helpful!!

After a whole summer together and taking tons of pictures, I have no pictures of us. Hmmm.. Guess we need to hand over our cameras somethime for a picture. Thanks for the fun summer and being so good to us. We love you and hope you have a Happy Birthday!!

Last night I could not keep the boys out of the food closet. When I thought they were distracted playing in their room, this is what I found. They were so quiet I didn't realize they were in the kitchen.

Stacking cans so nicelyOh no! We got caughtBrax and TayTaylor thinks the word Stinky is SOOOOO funny! Justin has a way of saying it that makes them laugh every time. Last night after changing a stinky diaper, Taylor started waving his hand by his nose and laughing. I asked him if it was stinky and he just cracked up. Next time I will have to try to get it on video.

When we were in IF I got the idea of making these stuffed animal blankets. Em and Sar did them a while ago and I always thought they were cute so I got the stuff and heres what I did...BeforeAfterI always love new projects. This week I saw that my favorite fabric store was having a great sale. I left the boys home with dad and went off to find some great deals. Yeah right! The stuff I loved wasn't in the sale section! It was so cute that I had to get it. Justin rolled his eyes when I showed him what I got. Like my boys need one more blanket. I guess we will just have to have a couple more boys or a girl that will love dinosaurs.

(I really don't think you can ever have too many blankets and I love to make them)

Settled In

Meal time with two 1 year olds...As you can see it is pretty messy while these two are eating. I am trying to teach them to use a spoon or fork and they know what to do but can't get enough food to stay on the spoon so they dig in with their hands as back up or else they just don't use their hands at all and lean over and suck it up. They still love to throw food and laugh as they do it. Oh well. They are learning.
They are starting to be brave and climbing up the slide by themselves. They still haven't figured out how to get down it once they are up but it will come. Today we went to the park and Braxton decided to go down the slide alone. He climbed up, turned himself around, and slide on his belly down the slide. Way to go bud!

Both boys carry around their blankets. This is Braxton's favorite and Taylor loves one with a ruffled edge. They both love to rub the edges across their faces and hands.

Movie Buffs:

Justin's TV is getting fixed so we have been using the TV in our room for the boys to watch movies. Today I decided to put Shrek 2 on my computer and the boys sat in the bean bag and watched. They love movies! We have figured out the ones that keep their attention are the ones with lots of noise and music. Nacho Libre and Shrek are two new ones that they like.

Back to life

We have enjoyed our first day back in Spokane. We got a lot done but still have lists of things to do before Justin starts school on Monday.

I have a few more pictures from IF and then on to life in Washington.Braxton loves to play ball. Any kind of ball he can find he loves to throw. He has a great arm too! (he practices at meal times with his food)

The boys have adjusted great to being home. They love playing in their room because that is where all the toys are. The drag toys back and forth and they eventually all end up out in the living room. Something that Braxton loves and is getting very good at is climbing. He climbs everything he can!!!

I was drying my hair this morning and decided I needed to check on the boys because who knows what they would be doing! This is what I found. They pulled all my shirts off the hangers (which I just put up last night :-) and Taylor was using them as a swing. You can't see it well but in the next picture he is swinging. It was to funny not to get pictures.

Life is seriously crazy with these two but thats what makes it fun!
